Advice for Beginners in the Reiki Journey: Tips to Start Energy Healing
Reading about the different short cuts you might consider using in your regular Reiki practise hurts me terribly. Yes, go ahead and experiment, but remember that shortcuts will also shorten your results. For days when you are truly pushed for time, shortcuts are OK, but everyday healing by putting your hands on your body is required on a regular basis. My observations show that an ordinary worker needs at least 30 minutes to clear the distractions they pick up. More is required when times are tougher. I’ve also noticed that practising twice a day has a greater impact than practising just once a day for hours. If you merely practise this much, every single day, you become incredibly resilient and hardly require any other practise.
Think about it in decades.
When we learn about Reiki, we are told that it must be practised for 21 days, therefore we perceive it as a 21-day procedure. It’s only the beginning right now. Time still flies even if we live in an immediate gratification world. It won’t be ten years before we realise it, therefore put in the effort to develop your spiritual footing by engaging in your practise every single day.
Don’t try to influence the result.
Wanting things to go our way is one of the pitfalls that many of us fall into quite quickly. Even while you may occasionally gain in the short term, this ultimately works against you. Of course, I suppose that sometimes one must learn a lesson the hard way to truly understand it, but if the words do strike a chord with you, then I’d advise you to surrender to the energy and accept with grace the difficulties it does not fix because those challenges are there to help you develop. It will take you far longer and significantly improve your ability to heal if you concentrate on growth rather than solutions.
Let Reiki determine when you should advance.
These days, a lot of educators want to educate quickly and at clubs levels. I liken it to planting a seed and then covering it with fertiliser for five years. Regardless of what you do, it will still take time and you won’t wake up to a tree the following morning. Premature learning levels remove the magic you can actually encounter. So put your ego aside and let Reiki decide when it is time for you to learn the next level (if this is what you open your heart to, it will just be inconvenient/unaffordable if it is not the correct time for you). The levels are NOT competitive.
Make a choice and stick with it.
Similar to relationships, if you continually switch from one approach to another, you will only be repeatedly climbing step 1 rather than rising up a ladder. The actual effort starts after the initial magic wears off and boredom sets in, much like in relationships. Where the adventure starts is in boredom. When daily practice starts to feel like a chore, your mind may start to drive you to look for another modality, enhancer, or symbol. Refrain from doing this. Strive to maintain that practice.
